Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your files never leave your device. The PDF is made by your own browser, and nothing is sent to a server.
Which image types can I use?
JPG, PNG and HEIC, the format iPhones use for photos. Each image becomes one page, in the order of the list.
Why are my phone photos the right way up?
Phones often save photos sideways, with a note saying which way is up. FreeTools reads that note, so each photo appears the right way up in the PDF.
Will my photos lose quality?
JPG photos are placed in the PDF as they are, without being compressed again, so they keep their quality. To make the PDF smaller afterwards, use Compress PDF.
What does automatic orientation do?
Wide images get landscape pages and tall images get portrait pages, so each image fills its page as well as it can.
How many images can I add?
Up to 500 images, each up to 100 MB and 50 megapixels, and 200 MB in total. On a phone, images that add up to more than 50 MB can run out of memory, so you will see a warning first.
